The renovation of an apartment in the heart of the Spanish city of Marbella
Japanese minimalism, Scandinavian cosiness, a sprinkling of Czech, Italian, Spanish, Belgian and Romanian product design. The renovation of an apartment in the heart of the Spanish city of Marbella is proof that even such an unexpected mosaic can create a harmonious interior with a thoughtful combination.
The owner was considering renovating the apartment, and her idea was a complete re-design of the interior with an accent on minimalism combined with natural elements, textures and materials. "In keeping with this, we focused on using natural materials, such as wood and imitation of stone, to create 3D textures on the walls. We also incorporated gold accents throughout the interior and focused on working with light," says Ing. Alena Babok, founder and designer of Design&Emotions studio.
The main living room represents the characteristic balance of the Japandi style. The soft neutral colour tones of the walls and floor complement the elements in a similar neutral palette. The most prominent feature of the space is a built-in open shelved cabinet with lighting across the entire wall, which is used to store books and display decorative vases and other items. A unique round dining table designed by Design&Emotions is situated near it.
"To enhance the nature of this project, we chose MINIMAL handles from the Czech manufacturer M&T for the doors, whose minimalist shape fully corresponds with the aesthetics and principles of the chosen Japandi style," says Ing. Alena Babok. The architects then selected the fittings in the corresponding colour scheme. The unique matt titanium braun finish on the MINIMAL handles presents an impressive play of shades that vary from light brown to very dark tones depending on the intensity of the incident light. This gives the fittings a unique touch of softness and naturalness that blends well with the warm tones of the wood in the interior. The advantage of fittings with a titanium braun matt finish is not only their spectacular appearance, but also their long service life and high scratch resistance.
